What's reality...
You should be your pre-pregnancy weight in six weeks after you give birth
Social media isn't real. Most women don't lose all their weight after six weeks. It takes time. Be patient with yourselves.
What's reality...
Social Media says....
You should be happy to be a mom.
Being a mom is most likely one of the hardest things you'll do as a woman. It's okay to be sad. Reach out to your friends and family. If that isn't enough, get professional care. You aren't broken. This is hard.
What's reality...
Social Media says....
You need to be do more, be more.
No, you don't need to do more or be more. Being you is enough. Just make sure you are eating and sleeping. Don't worry about the rest.
What's reality...
Social Media says....
You need to exercise and diet to lose postpartum baby weight. You need to be thin.
You can exercise if you'd like, but do it because you want to, and it makes you feel good. Don't do it to lose weight because social media says. Eat when you are hungry. Your body needs the nutrients. It is still healing from having a child. It needs energy to heal. You need energy to take care of yourself and your baby. Don't exclude any group of foods. You need carbs, fats, and protein.
If you are still feeling pressure, take a break or limit your social media usage. Free yourself from the fake-ness. Also unfollow those that don't make you feel good or happy about yourself.
